Shikhar Dhawan is a renowned Indian cricketer who was born on December 5, 1985, in Delhi, India. He is a left-handed opening batsman and has represented India in all three formats of the game - Test, One Day International (ODI) and T20 International.
Dhawan started playing cricket at a young age and was a part of the Under-17 and Under-19 teams in Delhi. He made his first-class debut in 2004 for Delhi and scored a century in his very first game. He continued to perform consistently for Delhi in domestic cricket and soon caught the attention of the national selectors.
Dhawan made his ODI debut for India in 2010 against Australia and scored a half-century in his very first match. Dhawan has also been a regular member of the Indian team in T20 Internationals and has played in numerous T20 leagues around the world. He has represented Delhi Capitals and Sunrisers Hyderabad in the Indian Premier League (IPL) and has been one of the leading run-scorers in the tournament.
