Shikhar Dhawan is a renowned Indian cricketer who was born on December 5, 1985, in Delhi, India. He is a left-handed opening batsman and has represented India in all three formats of the game - Test, One Day International (ODI) and T20 International.

                                    



Dhawan started playing cricket at a young age and was a part of the Under-17 and Under-19 teams in Delhi. He made his first-class debut in 2004 for Delhi and scored a century in his very first game. He continued to perform consistently for Delhi in domestic cricket and soon caught the attention of the national selectors.


Dhawan made his ODI debut for India in 2010 against Australia and scored a half-century in his very first match. However, he was unable to cement his place in the team and had to wait for two years to make a comeback. In 2013, he was given another opportunity and he grabbed it with both hands. He scored 187 runs in his second ODI against Australia, which is the highest score by an Indian in ODI cricket. He went on to score two more centuries in the same series and was named the Man of the Series.


In the same year, Dhawan made his Test debut for India against Australia and scored a brilliant century in his very first match. He became the first Indian batsman to score a century on Test debut in a foreign country. He continued to perform well in Test cricket and played a key role in India's overseas Test wins in South Africa, England, and Australia.


Dhawan has also been a regular member of the Indian team in T20 Internationals and has played in numerous T20 leagues around the world. He has represented Delhi Capitals and Sunrisers Hyderabad in the Indian Premier League (IPL) and has been one of the leading run-scorers in the tournament.


Dhawan is known for his attacking style of play and his ability to score runs quickly. He has scored more than 10000 runs in international cricket and has been one of the most consistent performers for India in all three formats of the game. He has also been a successful captain for Delhi in domestic cricket.
