Jaydev Unadkat is a professional cricketer from India who has represented the country at the international level. He is a left-arm medium-fast bowler known for his ability to swing the ball and take wickets. Early Life and Cricketing Journey


Jaydev Unadkat was born on 18 October 1991 in Porbandar, Gujarat. He grew up in a family of cricket enthusiasts, and his father is a coach at the local cricket academy. Unadkat was introduced to the sport at a young age and began playing seriously in his teenage years.


Unadkat started playing for the Saurashtra under-19 team in the 2007-08 season and made an immediate impact. He took 23 wickets in seven matches at an average of 19.26, which helped his team reach the semi-finals of the tournament. Unadkat continued his good form in the following seasons and was soon drafted into the Saurashtra senior team.


Unadkat made his first-class debut for Saurashtra in 2010 and immediately made an impact. He took 13 wickets in his first three matches and was soon seen as one of the best young fast bowlers in the country. Unadkat's consistent performances in domestic cricket earned him a place in the Indian team for the 2010 ICC Under-19 World Cup, which was held in New Zealand.


International Debut and Early Career


Jaydev Unadkat made his international debut for India in a Twenty20 (T20) match against South Africa in Johannesburg on 2 March 2011. He picked up the wicket of Colin Ingram in his first over and ended with figures of 1 for 28 in his four overs. Unadkat's performance was not enough to prevent India from losing the match, but it was a promising start to his international career.


Unadkat made his One-Day International (ODI) debut for India against Zimbabwe on 24 July 2013. He had a forgettable debut, going wicketless in his eight overs as India lost the match by six wickets. Unadkat was dropped from the team after just one match, but he continued to perform well in domestic cricket and was soon back in the reckoning.


Unadkat's breakthrough moment came during the 2013-14 Ranji Trophy season, where he took 39 wickets in eight matches at an average of 18.28. He played a crucial role in Saurashtra's run to the final, where they lost to Karnataka. Unadkat's performances earned him a recall to the Indian team for the ODI series against the West Indies in November 2013.


Unadkat played two matches in the series, taking two wickets at an average of 27.50. He was not able to cement his place in the team, however, and was dropped once again. Unadkat continued to perform well in domestic cricket and was a regular in the Saurashtra team. He also played for the Kolkata Knight Riders in the IPL and was part of the team that won the tournament in 2012 and 2014.


IPL Success and International Comeback


Jaydev Unadkat's performances in the IPL brought him to the attention of the national selectors once again. He was called up to the Indian team for the T20 series against Sri Lanka in December 2017.
